BRAVEHEARTS aims to forge a ‘movement for change’ in how paedophilia is dealt with by the criminal justice sector, government and the community at large and to provide survivors with a voice. Advocating for both healing and preventative strategies, Bravehearts provides comprehensive counselling for child and adult survivors of child sexual assault, and is actively involved in education, prevention, early intervention and research programs.

Established in September 2004, The Pyjama Foundation recruits, screens, trains and supports community volunteers - Pyjama Angels - to read to children in foster care on a weekly basis. The program offers foster carers support and a well-deserved respite. Our Pyjama Angels provide extra reading experiences for children in care to increase the number of books read to them. This will:
- improve their levels of literacy
- inspire a love of learning
- instill a belief in self-worth
- help them to be confident people valued by society
The positive results from this is absolutely amazing!

The Hear and Say Centre is one of the leading Paediatric Auditory-Verbal and cochlear implant centres in the world, teaching children who are deaf or hearing impaired to listen and speak since 1992. The Centre aims for its children to achieve speech and language in the normal range for their age by six years of age giving them the opportunity for a mainstream education, employment of choice and social integration with the hearing world. This is a picture of cute little Fatima who we sponsored this year and we intend to sponsor at least one child per year.

Dodd Foundation and Careflight
Introducing The Dodd Foundation
Megan Dodd is a Connect Working member through her role as RACQ CareFlight Rescue Regional Community Relations Manager for Greater Brisbane. While on her honeymoon in the UK this past Christmas day, her new husband Paul had an accident leaving him in a critcal condition, unconscious and unable to travel home. Expected to not live through the first 24 hours, it was through shere determination on all fronts, UK medical staff, Megan, Paul and their combined families who had travelled to the UK to be by their side, that Paul made it through those first critical hours, days and weeks.
As time progressed and Paul's health improved, the time had come to engage the help of Megan's collegues at RACQ CareFlight Rescue to bring them both home. Still unconscious, Paul required a Doctor and two Nurse escort. So, on the 19th February, Megan, with Paul and her collegues set off from the UK for the gruelling journey to bring Paul home. Now home in Brisbane at the RBWH, Paul requires round the clock medical treatment. He is still currently in a coma but shows signs everyday of improvement.
It was through the help of RACQ CareFlight Rescue and an unwaivering hope for survival that has brought Paul and Megan to where they are today. One part of their journey is behind them, another is yet to begin with the formation of The Dodd Foundation marking the next part of their journey. They desperately need to raise funds for Paul's ongoing medical expenses and living costs and they need your help!
